Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a veterinary clinic. PLEASE NOTE: We will contact applicants that we are interested. Please DO NOT CALL the clinic inquiring about your application. UPDATE POLICIES & PROCEDURES - COVID-19
Open for ALL CARE, but only offering Curbside service. Due to the presence of COVID-19 in our community, we are instituting new policies to protect our clients, our staff and our community. With outbreaks such as this, it is very important to slow the spread in our community so that hospitals are not overwhelmed with cases. For our part, we are going to strive to follow CDC recommendations to prevent the spread. We know that some of these policies will inconvenience some clients, and we apologize in advance, but we feel this is important to not only help slow the spread in our community, but to also protect our employees so that we can remain open as long as possible in order to be able to serve the needs of our community. We are striving to avoid the need to close our clinic, leaving the pets in our community without a place to go if they are hurt or sick. So please bear with us as we do what we have to in order to balance safety and health with client needs. What does this mean for Clients & Patients? We are still not accepting New Clients at this time. In order to be able to serve our current clientele and keep foot traffic at the clinic to a minimum, we will not be able to see any new clients for the foreseeable future. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Please do not come to the clinic if you have a fever or are exhibiting respiratory symptoms In an effort to reduce community spread, it is important to stay home if you are exhibiting respiratory symptoms or have a fever. Even if you do not have the COVID-19 virus, you may be more susceptible to it and should avoid public places like our clinic for your own safety. You are welcome to send your pets in with a trusted neighbor, friend or family member. We will contact you by phone for details and payment. All visits will be "curbside" visits, including medication & food pickup We are no longer allowing clients into the building. When you arrive, call us from your vehicle so that we know you are here.
Drop-off appointments will be encouraged In order to care for as many animals as possible while reducing traffic, we will be encouraging people to drop off their pets for care. These exams will be done as time permits between scheduled appointments. Doctors will then call owners with their findings and treatment plan once the exam is complete. Drop-offs will be handled curbside as described above with appointments. Clients are encouraged to fill multiple months of prescription meds when possible. Decreasing the number of visits by people to the clinic over time is an important way that we can limit community spread. We will be encouraging people to pick up 2-3 months worth of any medication they give their pets on a regular basis whenever possible (Supply may sometimes limit this, but we are striving to keep everything we need on hand.) Prescription pickup will be handled curbside (as above). What does this mean for our Staff? Staff will be wearing cloth masks when interacting with clients at curbside & ask that you do the same. Due to the generosity of one of our clients (Thank you Mrs. Tehlewitz), we have been given cloth masks to wear. We are striving to limit our use of medical protective equipment, as recommended by our government and the CDC to preserve it for first responders and medical professionals. We encourage you to also follow CDC guidelines and wear a cloth mask when you come to our clinic, or travel anywhere in the community. There are lots of tutorials on the internet that can help you create masks even if you don't know how to sew. Here are just a few:
Staff will take their temperature each morning. If any member of our staff has a fever or respiratory symptoms, they are asked to stay home and self-quarantine, and we will follow all CDC guidelines on determining return to work in order to protect ourselves and the community. Increased hand washing during the day. This applies to everyone, including our receptionists. Staff will wash hands before and after every appointment (as we usually do). While pets have not been shown to transmit COVID-19, they can act as fomites (walking doorknobs) and have the virus on their haircoat. Increased cleaning throughout the clinic. We have always worked hard to keep things very clean in our clinic with regular surface cleaning between appointments and daily mopping. We will be increasing in-clinic mopping and extra surface cleaning to at least twice daily, and will incorporate surfaces such as doorknobs, chairs, etc. Our cleaning solutions (Rocal & Odoban) are effective against the COVID-19 virus, so mopping the floor to remove any aerosolized droplets that have fallen to the floor and wiping surfaces like tables, counters and doorknobs at least twice daily will further decrease potential exposure and spread. |
